Handmade in Ireland since 1983.
Every great story starts small — and ours began in a Dublin kitchen 40 years ago.
The Beginnings of Broderick’s
It all started in 1983, when Ina Broderick began selling her homemade cheesecakes from the family kitchen in Dublin. Local coffee shops and fine food stores quickly fell in love with her baking, while her four young sons grew up surrounded by flour, sugar, and rolling pins. From bashing biscuits for bases (great fun) to washing up (less fun), Bernard, Barry and their brothers got an early taste of the trade.
Ina's kitchen success
By 1993, the family spirit had turned into a true business. Fresh out of university, Barry officially joined his mum at Ina’s Kitchen Desserts — though Ina was still kindly ironing his shirts for the office.
Just a few years later, in 1997, demand had grown so much that the business was supplying hotels, restaurants, and even in-flight dining with Aer Lingus. The once small kitchen venture was quickly becoming a proud Irish success story.
And that was only the beginning…
Taking Off
In 2006, Broderick’s hit the big stage as the official dessert supplier to the Ryder Cup at The K Club. Just a few years later, the brothers launched the Broderick’s brand (2009), creating indulgent handmade bars with Belgian chocolate, Irish butter, and Ina’s original recipes.
From there, things took off. By 2011, Broderick’s was exporting across Europe and soon flying worldwide with airlines like Virgin Atlantic, Delta, Emirates, and Ryanair.
Today, with over 100 people and exports to more than 23 countries, Broderick’s remains true to its roots: handmade in Ireland, family-run, and proudly Irish.
Today's story
From one mother’s kitchen in Dublin to shelves across the globe — Broderick’s has come a long way.
What started in 1983 with Ina’s cheesecakes is now a family business selling indulgent, handmade treats to Costco stores worldwide. Seeing Ina and Bernard together in Sweden is more than a proud moment — it’s proof of what can be built with family, tradition, and a passion for quality.
Through late nights, flour-covered kitchens, and plenty of laughs along the way, Broderick’s has grown without ever losing sight of its roots: Irish-owned, Irish-run, and Irish-proud.
And while our treats now travel the world, every bar still begins the same way — handmade, in Ireland, with love.
