Let's set the scene..
Alarm clock goes at 4am - I say 'I have time for the gym.' I did not.
Gym done, I race across town (at the speed limit, mind you) to the airport. Barbara on the phone 3 times asking where I am, why I'm late, and to inform me that she is in fact boarding the plane: 'Final call.. are you in the Q?!' I've messed up.
We're on the way to the UK to speak with a retailer about a new and exciting opportunity that's in the works - keep your eyes peeled - and I'm sweating; running from security (the most running I've done in years, poor knees) to the gates of the airplane and being last to board is not fun. In fact, it's quite embarrassing. And being the only sweaty person ahead of the flight on that plane makes you stand out - see the imagery on our socials for more... you're welcome.
Landed.
We got there, eventually. Nice flight, fair play Ryanair. Pity though you don't have Brodericks on board.. we'll see what the future holds.
Having landed, we're off, at speed yet again, to go chat to our retail partners' head people about chocolate, chocolate innovation and all things new and exciting in the product range. Once we'd had some really good and thorough discussion about the up and coming, we made time to drop in on another retailer, CostCo, and see how the Caramel Crispy Minis and the Brownie Minis are doing in store. Needless to say, the public love them. Could have told you that before I got there, but nonetheless, great to catch up with the team in CostCo on every and any occasion - not least for a small hotdog snack..
And that's it. We did the jobs, we did them well & we wandered (flew) on home - and with no sweat this time - a miracle.
Broderick's is a family-run Dublin maker of handmade chocolate bars, founded by Ina Broderick in 1984 and now run by her sons Barry and Bernard. Made with Belgian chocolate and Irish butter in small batches, it's best known for its salted caramel crispy range - and for the brothers' ongoing feud over the secret caramel recipe.
